Routine Care and Screening

Routine gynecologic care is the most effective protection against disease, infection and other abnormalities. Yearly pelvic exams are recommended for all women who are sexually active or over the age of 18. When performed with Pap smears, these exams can help screen for signs of HPV, cervical cancer and many other conditions. Early detection and treatment can help prevent permanent damage and are often the best protection against any gynecologic problems.

Regular screenings are especially important as women age, since they become more susceptible to cervical cancer, breast cancer, osteoporosis and more. We provide extensive screening procedures for women of all ages to help detect any problems as soon as possible.

Diagnostic Tests

We can perform nearly any needed tests at our in-office laboratory that takes much of the hassle out of medical testing for our patients. We can perform ultrasounds, sonograms, blood tests, urodynamics and more at our state-of-the-art facilities. Our staff is fully trained and experienced to perform these diagnostic tests, and results are available much faster than when using an outside lab.

Please call us today to schedule an appointment and learn more about our gynecologic services. We look forward to treating each and every patient with personalized care tailored to your individual needs.

At Mainline OBGYN, we offer specialized in treatment for a wide range of gynecologic conditions. Our team is fully trained and experienced to handle any type of issue you may be experiencing, and will do their best to provide the best possible results. We have experience in treating women of all ages for conditions such as endometriosis, infection, incontinence, infertility and more.

Some of the conditions we treat include:

Abnormal / Excessive Vaginal Bleeding

Most women experience abnormal vaginal bleeding at some point in their life in the form of unusually light or heavy menstrual periods or spotting in between periods. While this condition is not usually serious, it may indicate a complication with pregnancy, polycystic ovary syndrome or an infection. In women over 40, abnormal bleeding may indicate the beginning of perimenopause.

Our doctors will perform a series of diagnostic tests to determine the cause of your abnormal bleeding, and will then take the necessary steps to treat it. Treatment for abnormal bleeding depends on the cause but may include medication, dilation and curettage or surgery.

Abnormal Pap Smears

An abnormal Pap smear doesn’t necessarily indicate a condition like HPV or cervical cancer. Pap smears are constructed to detect any changes within the cervical cells, and abnormal results may indicate other conditions such as inflammation, hyperkeratosis, or atypical squamous or glandular cells. False positives are also common from Pap smears, but we take every precaution we can to ensure your health.

Your doctor may perform a colposcopy after abnormal cells are found in order to examine the cervix more closely and take a biopsy of any abnormal tissues. Any necessary treatment will be performed after further examination.

Premenstrual syndrome (PMS) and premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD) are common conditions that affect three out of four women at some point in their lives. These conditions are associated with symptoms related to menstrual periods and can include bloating, cramping, fatigue, moodiness, sleep irregularity, depression and more.

While there is no official diagnosis for these conditions, the symptoms can usually be treated by practicing a healthy lifestyle, reducing stress and taking birth control pills. More severe cases may benefit from anti-depressants or counseling as well.
